Cajun Garlic Butter Shrimp
Quick, simple and packed with Louisiana flavor, these Cajun shrimp are perfect as an appetizer, over rice, or alongside crusty French bread.
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1½ lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ tsp Cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper, optional
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Lemon wedges for serving
Directions
Pat the shrimp dry and season with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika and cayenne.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
Reduce the heat and add the remaining tablespoon of butter and garlic. Toss for about 30 seconds, just until the garlic becomes fragrant.
Remove from the heat and finish with fresh lemon juice, parsley and green onions. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Fruge Seafood Tip: Don’t overcook your shrimp. Pull them from the heat as soon as they turn opaque and curl into a loose “C” for tender, juicy shrimp.
